• 980 The first mention of the name Lohne.
• 1618-1648 Thirty Years War. Lohne is pillaged (1000 inhabitants).
• 1801 Industry is founded in Lohne with the production of pens out of goose quills (1720 inhabitants).
• 1818 consecration new church-building St.Gertrud
• 1819 First tobacco processing.
• 1842 First production of cork.
• 1855 Foundation of mechanically operated spinning mill.
• 1864 First large-scale slaughter.
• 1866 Skilled inventors start developing agricultural machinery.
• 1888 connextions with a train to Bremen/Oldenburg.
• 1907 The status of a town is conferred on Lohne.
• 1919 First mechanical paper processing.
• 1945 April 12., occupation through english troops (12,000 inhabitants).
• 1973 Lohne cecomes designated for regional subsidy.
• 1980 Anniversary year "1000 Years Lohne".
• 1981 Lohne scheduled for restoration under the terms of the urban renewal legislation.
• 1982 Lohne becomes regional centre for schooling and cultural events.
• 1985 Foundation of Catholic family educational institution.
• 1986 Completion of the pedestrian precinct in the town centre. Opening of senior citizens' residential and nursing home as church trust.
• 1987 Twinning of Rixheim/France and Lohne.
• 1988 Opening of the Museum of Industry. First Lohne Cultural Festival.
• 1990 20,219 inhabitants.
